Large Ships
Many of the large, well-known cruise ship companies offer trips to Alaska between April - October. This option is usually less expensive, and you’ll have ample time to enjoy the amenities provided on board. Day adventures are provided by the ship at an additional cost. Large ship cruises either operate round trip from Seattle or Vancouver staying within the inside passage, or one way between Seattle or Vancouver and Anchorage (via Whittier or Seward) crossing the Gulf of Alaska. Port destinations along the Inside Passage can include Ketchikan, Juneau, Haines, Skagway, Sitka, Icy Straight, and Glacier Bay National Park. Port calls on a cross gulf cruise often include some of the inside passage ports, while also traveling through the Prince William Sound area. Small Ships
The destinations are the focus of a small ship cruise experience, rather than the vessels themselves. That means excursions are key, and they often focus on history, culture, and adventure, making it easy for passengers to immerse themselves in their surroundings and learn about the places on which they call. Small ships boast knowledgeable on board staff, fine dining, intimate ports, and exclusive experiences.
Yachts and Family Cruises
An Alaskan charter yacht is an iconic way to see the state. The price tag may seem bold at first, but it can be comparable once you add up the cost for transportation, lodging, meals and sightseeing excursions that you would otherwise spend for your entire party. Charter yachts offer the guidance of an expert crew to fully immerse you in your breathtaking destinations. These trips are often fully customizable and offer a truly once in a lifetime experience.
