Alaska Ferry Summer 2022 Schedule is Open for Booking
September 27th, 2021
(KETCHIKAN, Alaska) – Today, the Alaska Marine Highway
System (AMHS) released its 2022 summer schedule, making a full year of ferry
sailings available for booking for the first time and allowing travelers to
make plans through September 2022. This full-year schedule also provides for
better-scheduled maintenance of the ferry fleet and offers reliability for
Alaskan businesses that wish to utilize ferry service as a component of their
business model. The forward funding that allows this further seasonal scheduling
is just one of many efforts initiated by the Governor’s Administrative Order
313 that formed the Alaska Marine Highway Reshaping Work Group, which
recommended the forward funding concept.
The Alaska Ferry summer schedule covers ferry travel from May
through September 2022. Reservations are available for booking at www.AlaskaFerry.com, by calling 1-907-772-3818 or 800-327-2571. Our Estimated Fare Calculator is available at AlaskaFerry.com or from our reservations agents.
The release of the 2022 summer schedule followed a recent
public comment period. The comment period was an opportunity for communities
and individuals to review and comment on the proposed schedule and alert AMHS
to significant community events. AMHS accepts comments and suggestions at any
time by email at dot.amhs.comments@alaska.gov.
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 237 airports, 10 ferries serving 35 communities, over 5,600 miles of highway and 776 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to “Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
